Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sentul Utama, or more commonly abbreviated as SMKSU is a public coeducational secondary school located in Jalan Ipoh 2 1/2 mile. SMKSU is known for its beautiful architecture and building design which is the second tallest school in Malaysia. This is a morning session school and partly because of that, attracted many parents to enroll their children into this school. With the hope of high disciplinary standards, this school is also one of the well-facilitated schools in Kuala Lumpur.

SMKSU was established in the year 2010. When it was first established, the first batch of students consists of Form 1, Form 2 and Form 4. This school students had to share some facilities, especially the field of a nearby school; SK Sri Dhandayuthapani, Jalan Ipoh. The students are actually under the supervision of Puan Hajah Maznah Binti Haji Mazlan, the ex-principal of SMK Setapak Indah. There were 200-300 students being enrolled for the first time and the number grew drastically over the next year. Now, the number of students is at least 700-800.
SMK Sentul Utama akan menjadi sekolah cemerlang dalam zon Sentul menjelang tahun 2015.
Untuk membangun dan mengembangkan potensi diri pelajar secara holistik sejajar dengan aspirasi negara maju berteraskan Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan.

SMKSU stands out in Sentul. It has two blocks of class rooms , Labs, an Academic block - Staff room, Office, Examination room, Library, Multimedia room and a Meeting room. Besides that, the school boasts a few other facilities such as a canteen, a multi-purpose hall and a 2 computer labs.
